Zak S. {Senior Pictures}

We have had the privilege of watching Zak during basketball, football and baseball over the past four years...so we were excited to get him in front of the camera!! Most senior guys hate having their pictures taken; and Zak was no different :) but during the shoot he was willing to do whatever we asked and kept a smile on his face the whole time.

Thanks for a great photoshoot and for entertaining us on Friday nights for the past 4 years!!

A day of Black and Whites

This is a little follow up to the previous post about lighting. I have heard and read that one of the best ways to make yourself concetrate on lighting is to shoot in black and white, not convert photos to black and white, but actually shoot in black and white. So thats what I did. I spent a couple hours walking around an old, run down, brake factory...converted the camera to black and white and started snapping away. (these are the shots out of the camera...no editing). Again just an exercise that I had a lot fun with, hope you enjoy!

Anyone else amazed at the one window that didnt shatter but made a perfect circle...

Lines - N- Lighting

I have recently been studying up on how lighting is one of the most important aspects of photography...I know, DUH right! So I decided to put what I have been reading to some practical hands-on application. If you can't tell what these pictures are, they are the blinds to the window in our den. I purposely over exposed them because I like the blown out look that it creates around the focal point of the image.
Anyway, just a fun little photog exercise that I thought I would share you all.

The Nose Book

So we rarely post personal photos on this blog, we have another blog for that :) But I thought I would share a perfect, snowy, lazy afternoon with you. Natalie loves her books. She sits and looks at them and mumbles a bunch of nonsense as if she is actually reading the books to herself. What she is saying makes no sense at all to us...but inside that always creatively growing mind of hers there is an exciting storyline being played out. Today it was the "Nose Book".  Such a fun time for us right now with the age she is at, and so glad we are able to capture moments like this through the camera!

Upcoming Events / Scheduling

Its hard to believe but Spring is quickly approaching...and for obvious reasons can't get here soon enough!! It has been an exciting Winter for us because not only have we been able to do many indoor sessions, but we have already booked family sessions, senior sessions and have a lot of 1st year newborn packages to complete this Spring. We are extremely excited to have 3 weddings currently planned for this summer and because of the amount of work involved with weddings are contemplating how many more to take on. It is an exciting time for us and we wanted to thank YOU for continuing to let us capture your moments through our work.

Those of you who might be attending this weekends Triton Hall of Fame banquet, make sure you say hello as we are excited for the opportunity to photograph the event.
